I am now back in Tokyo, from the Masters in Augusta.

I received this tea cup as a gift. We had the 15th graduation at our illustration school Aoyamajuku yesterday. As you might notice, faces printed on the cup are portraits of instructors (many faces but variations of 5 instructors in there) drawn by students.

I have received a postcard from Mr. Kiriaki, who had been an editor-in-chief at Illustration magazine in Japan, informing his recent transfer to a different department.

Otsukaresama!

Mr. Kiriaki drew all the faces in this postcard, including himself in the center (blod black line drawing with his right hand waving). All the other characters are basically illustrators who had been featured in the magazine. I am at the lower right being drawn as a shiba inu.

I was showing how to paint with oil pastels to my students. I usually use painting knives to mix colors right on the paper.
